Surprisingly, I found myself getting into the movie from half way right through to the end. The undeniable 'bromance' developed between the duo through the ridiculousness of the setup from a basic concept storyline with hilarious buddy conversations.
I would say this film belongs to the teen genre. There are some unnecessary ‘action’ packed sequences, coupled with it some outrageous scenes making it a worthwhile comedy.
It contains some vulgarities as you could imagine, something reminiscent of scenes from another popular TV series turned into big screen ‘the
inbetweeners’.
Not sure about 'the best comedy of the year' tag given by magazine, THE WEEK. So far this year I haven't seen anything funnier than '21 Jump street' yet, so I must give it a thumbs up and recommand the film.
It is perfect for a gloomy autumn evening if you want to have a silly laugh and you don't want to pay too much of the attention to the storyline. That is, until you get soaked into the comedy and start to watch it for real.
